Madhubani
This art form is practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar. It has a colorful depiction of traditional rituals and festivals. Madhubani Painting has remained confined to a compact geographical area and thus received GI status.

Kalamkari
This hand painting is made in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They use only natural dyes which involve twenty-three steps. Two distinct styles of kalamkari are the Srikalahasti style and the Machilipatnam style. Kalam means pen and hence the painting is done entirely with a pen.

Warli
Warli painting is a form of tribal art created by the people from the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra. These paintings revolve around the marriage of God Palghat. These paintings are characterized by geometrical patterns like circles, squares, triangles.

Gond
This art form is practiced by one of the largest tribes in India- the Gond from Madhya Pradesh. Storytelling is a strong element of every painting. These paintings are a reflection of man’s connection with nature

Mural
Special art from Kerala, mural paintings are the frescos depicting Hindu Mythology. This art form enjoyed royal patronage and is characterized by vibrant colors.

Kutchi Embroidery
This is a handicraft and textile art tradition of the Kutch district in Gujarat. The signature effect of the colorful embroidery sparkles when small mirrors are sewn over geometrical designs.

Kashidakari
This unique art is of Jammu and Kashmir. The exquisite needlework and thread work involves a spindle long stitch to make the design the most distinguished form of embroidery.

Zari work
It is an intricate art of work done with the threads made up of fine gold and silver to make patterns of embroidery called zardozi. Mostly done in the state of Uttar Pradesh, this work is known for its richness in the fabric.

Pattachitra
It is a traditional art form from the states of Odisha and West Bengal. Known for its intricate details, it showcases mythological stories as well as folk tales. Patta in Sanskrit means cloth and Chitra mean picture.
